Wahibba Sands Adventure dan santai di Wadi Bani Khalid - Part 4

Biddiya, Sultanate of Oman. 3rd Feb. 2012

Proudly hoisting our National Flag!

"Master Chef" off-work..hehe

...and before departing Al-Raha, we all enjoyed ourselves - dune buggies, sand drifting and dune bashing....

HAPPY faces....

Good-bye Wahibba....

About 14 km from Biddiya Shell petrol station, we turned off from Route 23, to the left following the labels to Wadi Bani Khalid. I read in quite a number of reviews and articles that the road would be winding into the mountains, and rightly so...

The road leading to Wadi Bani Khalid, off Route 23

Road works to expand the road...a good idea! as we were twisting and winding up and down the mountain.

The turn into Wadi Bani Khalid town, and another 8 km to the wadi pools.

Moving on into the wadi itself.

Arrived.... the car park at the wadi.

The ritual of offloading stuff for the picnic.

Making sure all in place.

The path into the wadi pools.

The path now through the "falaj" or irrigation conduits.

BEAUTIFUL! Welcome to Wadi Bani Khalid...

One of the wadi's pools.

Our picnic spot, nice and shady.

The children enjoying soaking their feet in the cool wadi water...and a bonus treat too...the fishes nibbling on the feet, just like the doctor fish, eating away those dead skin cells.

Iatah ni usul orang-orang kelaparan....

...fikir tah menyediakan, rupanya makan tah durang ani.. :)

...and "Master Chef" preparing the BBQ, and kali ani ada "Sous Chef" membantu (BBQ setnya damit sikit..)

Serial one way, "ik rial..", pikirtah "eight riyal", atu mahal...hehe

Sudah makan, dan berehat sekucupnya, we packed, and with the help of Said and Ali, we made our way back to the car park. Checking everyone all accounted for, we drove off towards Sur.

Driving was beginning to take the toll, feeling rather sleepy, somewhere about 20km from Sur, we stopped over at a masjid. Alhamdulillah solat fardu dijaga dan ditunaikan.

From the masjid, the Sur boys and the Muscat entourage departed ways.

Arriving Al-Khuwair through the mountain "short-cut" from Al-Amirat.

Alhamdulillah, we all arrived safely. The time was around 7.30 pm.... and a few of us sampat lagi tu megisi parut at Kareem's Cafe.
